Resume Database Software

Resumes are submitted by candidates to employers at the time of their interviews. A resume talks about the candidate's educational qualifications, skills and his work experience. The employer bases his decision on selecting the candidate for a job vacancy depending on his resume details and his interview assessment. An organization would need a resume database software as it would allow the employer to manage the contact details of candidates who have either not been selected now or are put on hold for future selection.

Why is a Resume Database Software used?

  • Automatic Matching - Every resume database software has the functionality of matching applicant's resume with several forms to job orders. This matching is done considering the client perspective and the candidate's perspective to the job vacancy. A recruiter would look at modeling his service on being either applicant centric or client centric. A recruiter would look at applicant centric services if he intends searching for jobs for which the applicants could qualify.

  • Resume Importing - If every candidate presents his resume well, a resume would span about 2-4 pages per candidate very easily. If your company interviews about 100 candidates daily for a week, you have an accumulated volume of about 1500 papers. Managing paper resumes would then become a logistical nightmare. The better idea would be to get the resumes in paper format and import them to the database which allows you to manage the resumes electronically.

  • Resume Retrieval - There may be many activities in your company which would need you to refer to the client's resumes often. Activities like an on-job promotion or a background check to be done by the company would need the Human resources team to refer the resume of the candidate. Increasingly, many companies are using the strategy of retrieving the resumes to cross-match the skills and qualifications for candidates to be eligible for 'lateral jumps' or 'vertical jumps'.

  • Applicant Tracking - There may be a chance that you are not able to select a candidate on the day of the interview itself. Either, your company does not have the vacancy for the skills of the candidate to be accommodated or you are not able to close the position. In such cases, the simplest thing for you to do would be to import the resume on to your Resume Database Software and retrieve them when you need the resumes.

Increasingly, companies and recruiting firms are looking for an interface which allows them to track applicants and resumes. Database Development companies have cashed on this demand for companies to have highly sophisticated yet simple resume database software.
